Shaq will not face Lakers on Wednesday
Dec 10, 2008 - 6:12 AM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O'Neal will miss Wednesday's showdown with one of his former teams, the Los Angeles Lakers.Shaq will be attending to the recent death of his great-grandmother, who helped raise him. Cillar O'Neal was 92.
The 36-year-old center is coming off his best performance of the season, collecting a season-high 35 points and eight rebounds while leading the Suns to a 125-110 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
While the timetable for Shaq's return is uncertain, he hopes to be back Friday for Phoenix's home meeting against the Orlando Magic, the team for whom he started his NBA career.
