Timberwolves G Miller set to return

Dec 12, 2008 - 7:52 PM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Mike Miller is expected to be in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Miller missed the past four games with an injured right ankle, suffered during a 100-89 loss to the Orlando Magic on December 3.

"There's going to be some soreness," Miller told the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Friday. "I turned it pretty good and it was only a week ago. It seems like forever and it was only a week ago. I've just got to go out there and play and put it behind me, not worry about it."

The Timberwolves (4-17) lost all four of the games Miller missed and are currently mired in a seven-game losing skid.

Acquired in an offseason trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, the 6-8 Miller has averaged 11.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 17 games this season.

With Miller returning to the starting lineup, guard Rashad McCants will come off the bench after starting the past two contests.
