G Jones to join Bucks
Dec 26, 2008 - 9:59 PM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The stalemate between point guard Damon Jones and the Milwaukee Bucks is over.The Bucks announced Friday that Jones has agreed to join the team effectively immediately and will be eligible to play in Saturday's game at Detroit.
Jones was acquired by the Bucks on August 13 in a three-team trade that sent Mo Williams to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, Jones, 32, refused to report to Milwaukee and was on the inactive list for the Bucks' first 30 games this season. Despite Jones' stance, he remained on the team's roster.
The well-traveled Jones has played for 10 teams in his 10-year career, averaging 6.7 points and 2.8 assists in 639 games.
The University of Houston product spent the last three seasons with the Cavaliers. He played in 67 contests last season, contributing 6.7 points and 2.8 assists per outing.
