Hawks F Williams released from hospital after concussion

Jan 18, 2009 - 1:41 AM ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks forward Marvin Williams was released from the hospital Saturday after suffering a concussion in Friday's 119-114 loss to the Golden State Warriors, according to published report.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Williams, who was kept overnight for observation in Oakland, California, likely will miss Monday's game against the Toronto Raptors and could be out longer.

The athletic forward flew home Saturday with Hawks assistant coach for player performance Pete Radulovic, the report said.

Williams was injured when he grabbed the rebound off his own miss and was fouled by Warriors forward Ronny Turiaf on the follow shot. Williams fell to the floor and hit his head.

The 22-year-old former second overall pick has averaged 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds this season.
