Bucks C Bogut to miss Tuesday's game with back injury

Feb 2, 2009 - 8:47 PM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut continues to undergo tests on his balky back and will miss Tuesday's game against the New Jersey Nets.

Bogut, who already has missed 12 games this season due to back spasms, did not participate in Monday's practice and did not travel with the Bucks to New Jersey.

The Bucks did not provide a timetable for Bogut's return. The 7-footer played just 16 minutes in each of Milwaukee's last two games after missing the previous eight.

"If I had a better feel (for his health), I would give it to you," Bucks head coach Scott Skiles said after Monday's shootaround.

The No. 1 overall draft pick in 2005, Bogut has averaged 11.7 points and a team-leading 10.2 rebounds in 36 games this season.

Milwaukee (24-27), which has remained in postseason contention, already is without leading scorer Michael Redd, who will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

But Skiles emphasized his team's ability to win without Bogut, who will be replaced by Francisco Elson in the starting lineup.

"We're trying to make everyone realize that we can still win a game without (Bogut)," Skiles said. "The guys were spirited today. We had a good workout."
