Hawks G Johnson out Wednesday with virus
Feb 3, 2009 - 9:34 PM ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson will miss Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a "viral infection," according to coach Mike Woodson.Woodson updated Johnson's status after Tuesday's practice, stating that the All-Star swingman will not accompany the team to Minnesota.
"All we can do is go with what we've got and do whatever it takes to get out of their with a win," Woodson said.
Johnson, 27, is averaging team highs of 21.5 points and 6.2 assists in 47 games this season for the Hawks, who expect injured forward Al Horford to return to the lineup Wednesday.
