Nuggets G Billups day-to-day with sprained ankle

Feb 4, 2009 - 7:01 PM OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- The Denver Nuggets may be without All-Star guard Chauncey Billups on Wednesday when they begin a season-high eight-game road trip at Oklahoma City.

Billups is listed as day-to-day after spraining his right ankle in the second quarter of Tuesday's 104-96 victory over San Antonio. He played until halftime but did not return in the second half.

X-rays were negative, but Nuggets coach George Karl said he did not know if Billups would be able to play against the Thunder.

The Nuggets hope to have forward Kenyon Martin back in the lineup. Martin did not play Tuesday due to a strep throat and fever that caused his temperature to reach 102.7 degrees.
