NBA rejects LeBron's triple-double bid

Feb 6, 2009 - 9:23 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Not so fast, LeBron.

The New York Knicks couldn't stop LeBron James, but the NBA statisticians managed to slow down the Cleveland Cavaliers' superstar.

The league announced on Friday that James was incorrectly awarded with a rebound in the final minute of Tuesday night's victory over the New York Knicks.

The correction means James came up one rebound short of what would have been his 21st career triple-double.

James finished with 52 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds. The revised stat also denied James the honor of being the first player to have a triple-double in a 50-point game since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar accomplished the feat in 1975.
