Hawks C Pachulia suspended one game for Tuesday's incident
Dec 6, 2006 - 11:51 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks center Zaza Pachulia was suspended one game without pay by the NBA on Wednesday and assessed a flagrant foul, penalty two, for an incident that occurred in Tuesday's 102-87 victory over Seattle.With 57 seconds left in the third quarter, Pachulia elbowed SuperSonics center Johan Petro in the neck and head area. He was called for a personal foul on the play.
Pachulia will serve the suspension Wednesday night, when the Hawks visit the Denver Nuggets. The 22-year-old is averaging 13.9 points and 7.9 rebounds in 16 games this season.
