Pistons F Wallace won't have to serve suspension
Feb 26, 2009 - 5:02 PM DETROIT (Ticker) - Rasheed Wallace has avoided a one-game suspension and will be in the lineup when the Detroit Pistons visit the Orlando Magic on Friday.Wallace picked up two technical fouls in Wednesday's 90-87 loss to the New Orleans Hornets, which gave him 16 for the season. NBA rules dictate that any player reaching 16 technicals must serve an automatic one-game suspension.
According to the Detroit Free Press, however, NBA vice president of basketball communications Tim Frank said in an e-mail Thursday that the technicals Wallace received on December 23 and February 7 have been rescinded.
That leaves Wallace with 14 for the season and will allow him to continue playing.
