Spurs C Oberto cleared to play

Mar 31, 2009 - 7:11 PM SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- San Antonio Spurs center Fabricio Oberto has been cleared to return to play.

Oberto had missed two games due to an irregular heartbeat. He felt abnormal sensations in his chest last Thursday and underwent an EKG by the team's medical staff.

He was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, but cardioversion restored his heart to its normal rhythm.

Oberto is averaging 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game for San Antonio, which takes on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.
