Bucks C Bogut to miss rest of season
Apr 4, 2009 - 4:30 PM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut will miss the remainder of the season while recovering from an incomplete stress fracture in his lower back, the team announced Saturday. However, Bucks general manager John Hammond is satisfied with Bogut's progress and anticipates that the Australian native will be ready for the start of training camp in the fall.
"We are very pleased by this week's test results that show Andrew is well on his way to a full recovery from his back injury," Hammond said.
Bogut, 24, has been sidelined since February 3, playing in only 36 games this season. The 7-foot, 260-pounder averaged 11.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks.
