Fort Wayne's Mitchell takes weekly honors
Jan 10, 2013 - 6:43 PM New York, NY (Sports Network) - Tony Mitchell of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Dec. 31 - Jan 6.A 6-6, 216-pound forward out of Alabama, Mitchell led the Mad Ants to back-to-back wins over the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 21.5 points, to go along with 7.0, rpg, 3.0 apg, and 2.5 spg. On Jan 3, he recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and collecting 16 rebounds in a 102-86 victory over the Warriors.
Other top performers considered include Austin's Jamarr Sanders, Bakersfield's Jerel McNeal, Canton's John Leuer, Erie's D.J.
