West Virginia routs College of Charleston

Nov 30, 2014 - 8:37 AM Morgantown, WV (SportsNetwork.com) - Jonathan Holton had 21 points and 10 rebounds to guide No. 21 West Virginia to an 86-57 win over the College of Charleston.

Jaysean Paige had 15 points and Juwan Staten added 10 for the Mountaineers (7-0), who have won all but one of their games by double digits.

"I think he's just scratching the surface of what he can be," West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins said of Holton.

Evan Bailey and Donovan Gilmore each scored 13 points for the Cougars (2-4), who were coming off a one-point win at George Mason.

A jumper from Devin Williams three minutes in gave the Mountaineers a 5-4 lead, a lead which the team never gave up.

That bucket started a 7-0 run and the team had an 8-0 run a few minutes later with a 3-pointer from Nathan Adrian giving the team a 20-10 lead.

West Virginia built its lead as high as 13 in the first half before eventually taking a 38-29 advantage into the break.

The Mountaineers went on a 14-0 run in the second half, as the Cougars went eight minutes without a point.

Adrian's 3-pointer capped the burst to give the team a 52-31 lead 7 1/2 minutes in, and the Mountaineers cruised to the finish line.
