Guard Williams to play for Memphis this season
Aug 22, 2009 - 1:42 AM MEMPHIS, Tenn.(AP) -- Guard Elliot Williams has been granted a transfer waiver by the NCAA and is eligible to play for Memphis this coming season.The school announced the approval in a news release Friday. Williams played his freshman season at Duke, where he started 12 games and averaged 4.2 points a game.
He is a Memphis native who has already enrolled in classes at Memphis. Williams has said he transferred to be closer to his sick mother.
