Vols F Emmanuel Negedu released from hospital
Oct 1, 2009 - 10:21 PM KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(AP) -- Tennessee forward Emmanuel Negedu will spend some time at the Cleveland Clinic to consult with doctors about his health.The 20-year-old was revived by the Volunteers' training staff after a post-workout at the Tennessee training facilities on Monday. Tennessee staff have not confirmed reports that he did not have a pulse after collapsing.
Tennessee spokesman Tom Satkowiak says the 6-foot-7, 218-pound sophomore from Kaduna, Nigeria, was discharged from the University of Tennessee Medical Center on Thursday after three days of testing.
Negedu is traveling to Cleveland with Volunteers associate athletic trainer Chad Newman and his American guardian family.
Negedu averaged 7.2 minutes, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 points in 33 games.
