Babb, Edwards among departures at Penn State
Mar 21, 2010 - 2:01 AM STATE COLLEGE, Pa.(AP) -- Penn State is losing one of its best shooters and three reserves.Coach Ed DeChellis said Saturday that starting shooting guard Chris Babb and reserve forward Bill Edwards will transfer to be closer to their homes.
Babb, a sophomore. is from Arlington, Texas. He was Penn State's third-leading scorer at 9.3 points and shot 37 percent from 3-point range.
Edwards, a freshman, is from Middletown, Ohio. He averaged 4.2 points in 26 games.
DeChellis said backup center Andrew Ott and former walk-on guard Adam Highberger are on track to graduate before next season and will not return.
Ott played 29 games this season and averaged 3.1 points. He played the last two months with an injured right shoulder. Highberger played sparingly.
