LSU's Spencer transfers to Nebraska
Aug 23, 2010 - 10:29 PM LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Point guard Bo Spencer is transferring to Nebraska after having been declared academically ineligible at LSU.Spencer would have been LSU's top returning scorer this season, with 14.5 points a game, but coach Trent Johnson announced in May that Spencer would be ineligible.
Spencer averaged 11.4 points in 2008-09 as LSU won the Southeastern Conference championship and made the NCAA tournament.
Nebraska coach Doc Sadler announced the arrival of Spencer and four other walk-ons Monday. Spencer will be a senior when he becomes eligible at Nebraska in 2011-12.
