Calipari gives World Equestrian Games an assist
Sep 7, 2010 - 5:33 PM LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky coach John Calipari is giving the World Equestrian Games an assist.Calipari has been using his Facebook page and his Twitter account to promote the two-week event, which begins at the Kentucky Horse Park on Sept. 25.
Calipari has posted pictures on his Facebook page of a friend holding tickets to the games and asking fans to play a version of "Where's Waldo," with the first fan to find the friend's location receiving prizes.
The coach also spent $10,000 to become the charter member of the Commonwealth Club. Club members can use their membership to buy tickets and attend special events.
The 2010 Games mark the first time the event has been held outside Europe. Riders from more than 50 countries are to compete.
