North Carolina's Marshall has successful surgery
Mar 19, 2012 - 7:57 PM Chapel Hill, NC (Sports Network) - North Carolina sophomore point guard Kendall Marshall underwent successful surgery Monday to repair a broken scaphoid bone in his right wrist.Dr. Don Bynum performed the surgery at UNC Hospitals. In order to stabilize the fracture, a screw was inserted into Marshall's wrist.
The injury occurred during the second half of North Carolina's win over Creighton in the third round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
Marshall's status for Friday's Midwest Regional semifinal against No. 13 seed Ohio University is not known at this time.
He is averaging 8.1 points and 9.8 assists for the season.
