Michigan's Hardaway entering draft
Apr 17, 2013 - 7:45 PM Ann Arbor, MI (Sports Network) - Michigan junior guard Tim Hardaway, Jr. announced Wednesday that his declaring for the upcoming NBA Draft.Hardaway posted career-best averages of 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists while helping the Wolverines reach the national title game and match a school record for wins in a season (31) during the 2012-13 campaign.
"After talking it over with my family, the coaching staff, and others in my support system, I have decided to pursue my dream of playing in the NBA," Hardaway said. "I have appreciated everyone's support and patience while I made this decision. It has always been a dream of mine to play in the NBA and I feel that I am ready to work toward this dream.
"There will be challenges ahead, but I am looking forward to what the future holds. I know with what I have learned about being a Michigan Man, I will be more than ready for this next phase in my life. This has been the greatest experience playing at Michigan and something I will never forget."
Hardaway becomes the second starter on Michigan's national runner-up squad to enter the draft. Naismith and Wooden Award winner Trey Burke announced Sunday that he would forego his final two seasons of eligibility and turn pro.
