UCLA recruit given release
Apr 25, 2013 - 5:53 PM Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - UCLA basketball recruit Allerick Freeman has been given his release from a national letter of intent.Freeman was recruited by former UCLA head coach Ben Howland, who was fired in March.
"Allerick is a fine young man with a tremendous future ahead of him," said new UCLA coach Steve Alford in a statement Thursday. "My coaching staff and I are supportive of his decision, and we feel that a mutual parting of ways is the best solution."
Freeman, a 6-foot-4 guard from Charlotte, N.C., has not decided where he will sign.
