MSU's Payne returning for senior season
Apr 29, 2013 - 12:55 PM East Lansing, MI (Sports Network) - Michigan State forward Adreian Payne has decided against entering the NBA Draft and will return to school for his senior season.During the 2012-13 campaign, Payne earned Second-Team All-Big Ten honors after averaging 10.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while leading the conference in free-throw percentage (.848). He also ranks third in school history with 113 career blocks.
"I've always wanted to play in the NBA, but one more year at MSU is the right decision for me," Payne said. "I'm very excited for next year. We have a chance to have a great season with championship goals."
Earlier this month, Big Ten Freshman of the Year Gary Harris (12.9 ppg) also announced his return to the Spartans for the 2013-14 season.
