Duke's Hood entering NBA Draft
Apr 18, 2014 - 5:12 PM Durham, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Duke sophomore forward Rodney Hood is following teammate Jabari Parker to the NBA Draft. The 6-foot-8 Hood announced his intention to turn pro on Friday, one day after the freshman star made public he was leaving Duke.
Hood played just one year for the Blue Devils after transferring from Mississippi State. He averaged 16.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this past season.
"Rodney had two terrific years here at Duke," head coach Mike Krzyzewski said in a statement. "He was an integral part of our team two years ago because he was such a great practice player and this year he was one of the best players in the country. So consistent and a great young man on and off the court. He will do really well in the NBA and obviously he will always be a part of what we do and we wish him the best."
Projected to be a first-round pick, Hood made the SEC all-freshman team in 2011-12. He sat out the next season because of NCAA transfer rules.
