Arkansas' Qualls to enter NBA Draft

Apr 15, 2015 - 9:18 PM Fayetteville, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Arkansas guard Michael Qualls announced Wednesday that he will bypass his senior season and declare for the 2015 NBA Draft, the program's second player in as many days to turn pro.

Qualls, who averaged a career-best 15.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in 36 games this past season, joins 2014-15 SEC Player of the Year Bobby Portis in this year's draft pool.

"After sitting down with my family I felt the best decision for me is to continue my basketball career as a professional," said Qualls in a statement. "I'm ready to provide for my family and my son.

"I can't say thank you enough to the Razorback fans. Coming in as a kid from Louisiana they embraced me from the start like I was one of their own and have always shown me an amazing amount of support. That means a lot to me and I'll forever be a Razorback."

Qualls, a second team All-SEC honoree in 2014-15, averaged 11 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists over three seasons at Arkansas and helped the Razorbacks to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2008 this past campaign.
