G Costain dismissed from Pepperdine
Oct 19, 2007 - 10:48 PM MALIBU, California (Ticker) -- Pepperdine will be without its top returning scorer this season as guard Kingsley Costain was dismissed from the school Friday for a violation of university policy. As a junior last season, Costain averaged 11.5 points per game for the Waves. The 5-7 Toronto native currently is fifth on Pepperdine's all-time list with 146 3-pointers.
"It's unfortunate to lose a player of Kingsley's caliber so close to the start of the season," Waves coach Vance Walberg said. "We are going to miss him and we wish him the best. We've been practicing hard and getting ready for the new season, and we will have to find a way to overcome this big loss."
Pepperdine plays its first exhibition game on November 6 against Westmont.
