Boston College
Last season: 13-19.
Nickname: Eagles. Coach: Jim Christian.
Conference: Atlantic Coast.
Key returners: Seven-footer Dennis Clifford (6.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg) is the key returning player. But the Eagles also added guard Eli Carter, a graduate transfer who has scored more than 1,000 career points at Florida and Rutgers.
Who left: Leading scorer Olivier Hanlan (19.5 ppg) was a second-round draft pick by the Utah Jazz. The Eagles also lost No. 2 scorer Aaron Brown, No. 3 scorer Patrick Heckmann and No. 4 scorer Dimitri Batten.
The Skinny: If Clifford can stay healthy and Carter can do what Brown did as a graduate transfer, the Eagles have a chance to improve on last year's 4-14 Atlantic Coast Conference record and break .500 for the season. But with nine freshmen and sophomores, coach Jim Christian is still building for the future.
No one has shouted yet.
