Kentucky's Calipari announces Breeders' Cup post positions
Oct 26, 2015 - 11:40 PM LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari announced post positions for entries in the marquee races at the Breeders' Cup, despite joking earlier that he didn't know what horses were racing. An expected cheer went up Monday at Keeneland when the Hall of Famer announced that Triple Crown winner American Pharoah drew the No. 4 post position for the Breeders' Cup Classic that is expected to be the colt's farewell race. Calipari drew his own cheers upon being introduced to draw the post positions, a duty he initially was going to pass up for recruiting.
Calipari's focus on the upcoming season might explain his lack of knowledge about the Breeders' Cup field or his favorite. He joked, ''I do have tickets to the race, though. When is it?''
No one has shouted yet.
