Suspension lifted for Georgia G Humphrey

Nov 20, 2007 - 8:24 PM ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) - The suspension of Georgia guard Billy Humphrey was lifted on Tuesday by the university's athletic association.

The junior will be available to play in Tuesday's game against Elon.

Humphrey was suspended indefinitely on November 14 following his arrest a for possession of a knife on school property. He missed only one game during the suspension - a 83-70 win against Grambling State 83-70 that same day.

Campus police discovered a butterfly knife with a blade longer than two inches while executing a search warrant on the suspicion that marijuana may have been present in Humphrey's dorm room on November 13. No marijuana was found during the search.

Because he was charged with felony, Humphrey was automatically suspended per athletic association rules.

In his only action this season, the 6-2 Humphrey scored 13 points in 24 minutes during Georgia's 107-65 win over Jacksonville State on November 9.
