Arkansas State G Banks suspended
Dec 3, 2007 - 2:36 AM JONESBORO, Arkansas (Ticker) -- Arkansas State guard Adrian Banks was suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules on Sunday.A senior, Banks had started the first six games for Indians, averaging 21.7 points and 4.2 rebounds.
"Our policies concerning violations of team rules have never changed, regardless of a player's role on our team or how good they are," Arkansas State coach Dickey Nutt said. "We have team rules in place that apply to everyone on the team, and if those rules are broken we will gather all the facts surrounding the violation and then move forward accordingly, which is what we are doing here."
Banks had 22 points, including a last-second jumper, as the Indians captured a 71-69 victory against Tennessee-Martin on Thursday.
The decision could not come at a worse time for Arkansas State (2-4), which travels to Northwestern on Monday.
