UNC F Hansbrough listed as probable
Dec 17, 2007 - 11:20 PM CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- North Carolina forward Tyler Hansbrough is not expected to miss any time after suffering a concussion in Sunday's 93-71 win over Rutgers.Hansbrough is listed as probable for the top-ranked Tar Heels' next game against Nicholls State on Wednesday.
The Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Player of The Year, Hansbrough recorded his fourth double-double of the season against the Scarlet Knights with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
He was injured with just under six minutes to play when he fell backward while trying to draw a charge. His head snapped back and slammed against a cameraman's knee at the base of the support behind the basket.
Hansbrough stayed down for a few minutes before being helped to the locker room, walking under his own power.
He went through a light weight workout Monday afternoon and will be evaluated again in the next two days by North Carolina's medical staff.
A two-time first-team All-American, Hansbrough is averaging 21.2 points and 9.8 rebounds for the Tar Heels (9-0).
