TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (Ticker) -- Alabama forward Richard Hendrix announced his decision to enter the NBA draft Wednesday, according to a report by the Tuscaloosa News.
An All-SEC first team selection, Hendrix averaged 17.8 points and 10.1 rebounds during his junior season for the Crimson Tide (17-16).
Despite wanting to find out his prospects as a pro, Hendrix will not hire an agent according to the report, enabling him to return to school for his senior season.
"After the season I had to come to a decision," Hendrix told the News. "I made the decision that I want to enter my name in draft. I do not plan to sign with an agent right now.
"I go into this procedure with the highest hopes and best expectations."
Looking to be a first-round pick, Hendrix may still opt to leave school early even if the chances are not great that he would be taken among the first 30 picks.
"That's a decision I'll have to make as I get more feedback," Hendrix told the paper. "I'm just going to go about this as I have been going, working hard, going to school and getting the best advice.
"I can't say anything is 100 percent right now. I just want to gather the best information I can and make the decision that is right for me."
