Report: Bayless to enter draft
Apr 5, 2008 - 11:03 PM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Arizona freshman guard Jerryd Bayless has opted to enter this year's NBA draft, the Arizona Republic reported Saturday.According to the newspaper, Bayless' decision was confirmed through the school's sports information office.
Arizona coach Lute Olson told the Arizona Republic that he was surprised.
"I thought it would be 80-20 in terms of him coming back," Olson said. "I think Jerryd is going to be a very good pro. It'll depend on who drafts him or whether he'll be able to play right away."
Projected as a lottery pick, Bayless led the Wildcats in scoring, averaging 19.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. He also shot 40.7 percent from 3-point range.
