MSU's Hansbrough to transfer

Apr 7, 2008 - 10:52 PM STARKVILLE, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Mississippi State sophomore guard Ben Hansbrough has decided to transfer following the spring semester, Bulldogs coach Rick Stansbury announced Monday.

Hansbrough is the younger brother of North Carolina forward Tyler Hansbrough.

"Ben is a good kid and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," Stansbury said.

The younger Hansbrough was Mississippi State's fourth-leading scorer this season, averaging 10.5 points per game. He started 28 contests for the Bulldogs (23-11), who lost to Memphis, 77-74, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
