BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Louisiana State sophomore forward Anthony Randolph will enter this year's NBA draft, the school announced Tuesday.
However, Randolph has not hired an agent, meaning he could return to LSU for his sophomore season if he withdraws his name from the draft by the April 27 deadline for filing.
"After much discussion with my family and those closest to me, I feel there cannot be a better time for me to enter the NBA draft," he said. "I am well aware of the challenges young men face when entering the professional ranks of any career.
"However, I believe I am ready to face those challenges with a positive attitude, and I have faith and determination that I will succeed in these endeavors."
The 6-10 Randolph averaged 15.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks during his freshman season. He was the only LSU player to start all 31 games.
"I have really enjoyed my time at Louisiana State University," he added. "LSU has been a good opportunity for me."
