Xavier gives coach Miller extension
Apr 23, 2008 - 7:56 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- After a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, Xavier on Wednesday rewarded coach Sean Miller with the longest contract extension in school history.Miller, who signed a six-year deal in 2004, agreed to a 10-year extension through the 2017-18 season.
Miller, 39, guided the Musketeers to a 30-7 record and an appearance in the Elite Eight, where Xavier fell to UCLA.
"This agreement represents an unprecedented commitment by Xavier University to head coach Sean Miller," Musketeers athletic director Mike Bobinski said. "It reflects our strong belief in Sean's leadership of our basketball program and further solidifies our mutual desire to achieve success at the highest level of Division I basketball."
Through four seasons, Miller has compiled a 93-39 record while leading the Musketeers to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
