Texas G Abrams declares for draft

Apr 23, 2008 - 8:43 PM AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) -- Texas junior guard A.J. Abrams declared for the NBA draft Wednesday, but will not hire an agent leaving the option open of returning to school.

The 5-11 guard averaged 16.5 points, making 118 3-pointers for the 31-7 Longhorns.

"Playing in the NBA has always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid," Abrams said. "Right now, I have the opportunity to test the waters to see where I stand. If I'm comfortable with where I feel I'll be drafted, I'll stay in the draft. If not, I'll be back for my senior year."

Sophomore guard D.J. Augustin also declared for the draft Wednesday, but did not hire an agent.
