Louisville F Williams out at least one month

Oct 15, 2008 - 1:53 AM LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- The University of Louisville announced Tuesday that senior forward Terrence Williams will miss four to six weeks with a meniscus tear in his right knee.

Williams averaged 11.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists last season, helping the Cardinals reach the regional finals of the NCAA Tournament. He also led the team in minutes played, averaging just under 36 per game.

The 6-6 forward suffered the injury during a pick-up game, reportedly landing on his knee awkwardly.

"I'm ecstatic that it's not an ACL tear as was first feared," Louisville coach Rick Pitino said. "He'll be out only a short period of time, and we know he'll come back as good as new. We're totally relieved."

Louisville opens the season on November 22 when it hosts Morehead State.
