Moser promoted to associate coach at Saint Louis

Nov 5, 2008 - 11:18 PM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- Porter Moser was elevated to associate head coach at Saint Louis, the school announced on Wednesday.

Moser, 40, is about to begin his second season on the bench under head coach Rick Majerus, who guided the Billikens to a 16-15 record in his first campaign last year.

"We are happy to recognize coach Moser's hard work, accomplishments and expertise," Majerus said. "Coach Moser has already proven himself to be an outstanding head coach, and the players, the staff and myself have been the beneficiaries of his extensive experience. We have coached alongside each other, and his energy and enthusiasm brings a challenge to both myself and the team every day to try and match him."

Prior to joining the staff at Saint Louis, Moser served for four years as the head coach at Illinois State, inheriting a last-place team and guiding them to a 51-67 record during his tenure.

Overall, Moser has a 105-101 record in seven seasons as a Division I head coach, including a three-year stint at Arkansas-Little Rock.
