UNC F Hansbrough scores 13 season debut

Nov 22, 2008 - 7:27 AM SANTA BARBARA, California (Ticker) -- North Carolina forward Tyler Hansbrough made his season debut Friday in the Tar Heels' 84-67 victory California Santa Barbara.

Hansbrough played 25 minutes and had 13 points on 2-of-8 shooting and added seven rebounds. He made 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.

Last season's consensus National Player of the Year, Hansbrough had missed the top-ranked Tar Heels' first two games with a stress reaction in his right shin.

The senior's return comes one game after the news that freshman Tyler Zeller will likely miss the rest of the campaign with a fractured left wrist. Zeller had started in Hansbrough's place and averaged 10.0 points.

Hansbrough averaged 22.6 points and 10.4 rebounds to help North Carolina reach the Final Four last season.
