Report: Ole Miss G Warren out for season

Dec 20, 2008 - 2:07 AM JACKSON, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Mississippi guard Chris Warren has a torn ACL in his left knee, according to a published report Friday.

Citing Rebels assistant coach Michael White, the Jackson Clarion Ledger reported that the 5-10 Warren will be out for the rest of the season.

Warren, who was averaging 19.6 points, was injured in Thursday's 77-68 loss to ninth-ranked Louisville, when his knee buckled during a drive to the basket.

Rebels guards Eniel Polynice and Trevor Gaskins also will sit out for the remainder of the campaign due to knee injuries.

It has been a troublesome time for Ole Miss and coach Andy Kennedy, who was arrested for misdemeanor assault early Thursday morning. Kennedy allegedly punched a cab driver and shouted racial slurs at him, though he has vehemently denied both claims.
