Winter storm postpones MVC games

Jan 28, 2009 - 11:51 PM DES MOINES, Iowa (Ticker) -- The Missouri Valley Conference contest between Drake and Evansville was postponed Wednesday due to a winter storm that prevented the Purple Aces from traveling.

Due to a snowstorm that blanketed the Midwest, Evansville was unable to fly out of Southern Indiana to make the contest scheduled for Wednesday evening.

The game has been rescheduled for Thursday at 4 p.m. CST.

"We regret this terrible inconvenience caused by Mother Nature," Drake athletic director Hatfield Clubb said. "I appreciate our fans' understanding of this unfortunate schedule change."

The inclement weather also forced the rescheduling of Wednesday's contest between Missouri State and Southern Illinois. The game has been moved to Thursday at 8 p.m. CST.
