Oklahoma dismisses Pattillo
May 17, 2009 - 10:22 PM NORMAN, Okla.(AP) -- Forward Juan Pattillo has been kicked off Oklahoma's basketball team for an undisclosed violation of team policy.Sooners coach Jeff Capel announced Sunday that he had dismissed Pattillo, who came out of a redshirt halfway through last season and helped Oklahoma reach the regional finals in the NCAA tournament.
Pattillo averaged 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds and also provided a shot-blocking presence in 18 games off the bench. With player of the year Blake Griffin moving on to the NBA, Pattillo was expected to play an even bigger role next season.
Capel says he will not comment on Pattillo's dismissal.
