ESPN to debut women's GameDay show at UConn
Aug 18, 2009 - 9:50 PM BRISTOL, Conn.(AP) -- ESPN is planning to debut a women's basketball version of its College GameDay program in January before a game between Notre Dame and Connecticut.The network announced on Tuesday that the program will originate from Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus in Storrs on Saturday, Jan. 16.
In 2005, UConn hosted the first men's basketball GameDay broadcast before a game between the Huskies and Pittsburgh.
College GameDay is a studio show that previews the upcoming day of college games, and later recaps the day, while broadcasting live from the site of a featured contest.
