NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Courtney Paris and Oklahoma showed that they are ready for the Big 12.

Paris had 11 points and 10 rebounds for her 105th consecutive double-double as No. 5 Oklahoma drubbed North Carolina Central, 89-25.

Whitney Hand scored 18 points and Amanda Thompson and Nyeshia Stevenson added 12 each for the Sooners (11-2), who won for the seventh straight time. They will travel to Nebraska on Saturday to kick off their league schedule.

Oklahoma shot 59 percent (19-of-32) in the first half and held North Carolina Central to six field goals in the opening 20 minutes to grab a 50-15 lead at the break.

The Eagles (4-12) finished with just 11 more field-goal attempts (44) than turnovers in being held to a season low in points and having a two-game winning streak snapped.

(8) STANFORD 70, ARIZONA 61

TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Jeanette Pohlen and Stanford thought they had a win just a bit too earlier.

Pohlen scored 15 points and Nnemkadi Ogwumike added 14 as eighth-ranked Stanford overcame a big late run by Arizona for a 70-61 Pac-10 victory.

The Cardinal (11-3, 2-0 Pac-10) built up a 65-40 lead with 5:18 remaining when Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer emptied the bench.

The Wildcats responded with a 17-0 run, closing within 65-47 with 47 seconds left. Reiko Thomas hit three 3-pointers during the run.

However, Stanford converted 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch to win for the third straight time.

Jayne Appel scored 11 points and Jillian Harmon added 10 for the Cardinal.

Ify Ibekwe had 23 points and 13 rebounds and Thomas scored 15 for Arizona (7-6, 0-2).

(9) CALIFORNIA 54, ARIZONA STATE 53

TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Ashley Walker converted a layup with 1.8 seconds left to lift No. 9 California to a 54-53 triumph over Arizona State in the Pac-10.

The Sun Devils went ahead, 53-52, when Dymond Simon hit a 3-pointer with 8.7 seconds to play. Yet, that left enough time for Walker, who followed up a missed layup by Kelsey Adrian by picking up a loose ball under the basket and scoring.

Walker, the Bears' leading scorer, finished with just nine points, going 4-of-10 from the field.

Natasha Vital scored 19 points and Alexis Gray-Lawson 11 for California (11-2, 2-0 Pac-10), which won its third straight game.

Simon ended up with three 3-pointers and 17 points for Arizona State (8-6, 0-2).

(17) OHIO STATE 67, MICHIGAN STATE 49

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Jantel Lavender collected 20 points and eight rebounds to help 17th-ranked Ohio State past Michigan State, 67-49, in the Big Ten Conference.

Star Allen had 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Buckeyes (12-2, 3-0 Big Ten) won their sixth straight game.

Lavender scored eight points during an 18-2 run to start the game as Ohio State went on to take a 37-17 advantage at halftime.

The Spartans (9-6, 2-2), who shot just 38 percent (21-of-56), got 14 points from Lauren Aitch on 7-of-11 shooting.

Michigan State also committed 24 turnovers.

(22) PITTSBURGH 72, WEST VIRGINIA 63

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Shavonte Zellous scored 34 points and 22nd-ranked Pittsburgh closed the game with eight straight points en route to a 72-63 triumph over West Virginia.

Xenia Stewart added 12 points for the Panthers (11-2, 1-0 Big East), who held the Mountaineers scoreless after a 3-pointer by Takisha Granberry pulled West Virginia within 64-63 with 2:19 left in the game.

Granberry had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead West Virginia (10-3, 1-0). Liz Repella scored 18 points and Sarah Miles had 12.

(24) GEORGIA TECH 69, TULANE 52

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Jacqua Williams scored a career-high 23 points to lead No. 24 Georgia Tech to its eighth straight win, a 69-52 victory over Tulane.

Iasia Hemingway had 15 points for the Yellow Jackets (12-2), who had a strong defensive start four days before opening Atlantic Coast Conference play against Boston College.

Georgia Tech forced 19 turnovers, turning them into 24 points - and held Tulane to 0-of-14 on 3-pointers.

Williams shot 8-of-12 from the field with three 3-pointers, grabbed four steals and handed out four assists.

Brittany Lindsey scored 20 points for the Green Wave (9-6).
