STORRS, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Connecticut freshman guard Caroline Doty will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee during Saturday's 107-53 victory over Syracuse.
A MRI exam confirmed the ACL tear in the same knee that was surgically repaired in September 2007.
Doty, who scored 17 points in the first half, suffered the injury just before the intermission when she fell to the court while trying to grab a pass on a fast break.
Doty averaged eight points and started every game for the 17-0 Huskies, who visit No. 2 North Carolina on Monday.
