BYU receiver out with hamstring strain
Oct 5, 2009 - 10:30 PM PROVO, Utah(AP) -- BYU receiver McKay Jacobson is out four to six weeks with a strained hamstring.Coach Bronco Mendenhall said Monday that Jacobson strained the left hamstring while stretching before the 18th-ranked Cougars' win over Utah State on Friday.
Mendenhall says an MRI showed the strain high up on the muscle and the injury could take a while to heal.
Jacobson had 11 catches for 280 yards and three touchdown in BYU's first four games.
