Seminoles concerned about Ponder's sore ribs
Nov 1, 2009 - 7:41 PM By BRENT KALLESTAD Associated Press WriterTALLAHASSEE, Fla.(AP) -- Quarterback Christian Ponder has bruised ribs and could miss Florida State's game Saturday at Clemson.
Coach Bobby Bowden said Sunday that coaches will have to see at practice this week how badly the sore ribs bother Ponder, who is having one of the best seasons of any quarterback in school history.
The Seminoles (4-4, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) need a win against Clemson (5-3, 3-2) to keep alive any hopes of winning their division and sneaking into the ACC title game next month in Tampa.
Ponder, who ranks third nationally in total offense per game, was injured early in Saturday's 45-42 win over North Carolina State, but played despite the pain.
No one has shouted yet.
