Wake's Malchow hurt on opening kick
Nov 7, 2009 - 9:51 PM ATLANTA(AP) -- Wake Forest defensive end Lee Malchow has been injured on the opening kickoff against No. 10 Georgia Tech.Malchow was down for several minutes Saturday while a cart was brought out and his right leg was wrapped, an indication it may be broken. Several of his teammates came over to shake his hand before he was taken off the field.
A fourth-year junior, Malchow was shifted from linebacker to end and made his first career start two weeks ago against Navy. He was listed at No. 1 on the depth chart for Saturday's game even though Gelo Orange started in last week's loss to Miami.
