Berry cuts scouting event short after toe injury
Mar 17, 2010 - 11:44 PM KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(AP) -- Tennessee All-American safety Eric Berry cut his pro timing session with NFL scouts short after suffering a minor toe injury.Berry says he believes he caught one of his toes in a hole on the turf at Tennessee's indoor football complex during the Wednesday event and sat out as a precaution.
He participated in the NFL Combine in February and is projected to be among the top picks in the April 22 draft. He is skipping his senior season at Tennessee.
The junior was among 15 Vols participating in the pro timing day, which allows players to show off their skills to scouts.
